Make your own oil free tahini at home. Enough said.
Ingredients
• 3 cups white sesame seeds
1. In a medium frying pan, toast the sesame seeds for 5 minute over a medium low heat until slightly fragrant and slightly browned being careful not to burn. Stir frequently, then let cool.
2. Place the cooled, toasted sesame seeds in a high speed blender (like Vitamix) and blend until smooth. Do this by using a tamper and gradually increase the speed to high. Continue to use the tamper on high to get to a smooth and creamy consistency.
3. Store in a glass container with a lid in the fridge for a few weeks.
Note: You can add salt or garlic powder to taste as desired, or keep it free of additional seasoning to keep it neutral for use with both sweet and savory recipes.
Makes about 8 ounces.
