The perfect thick vanilla smoothie bowl recipes. Easy, and perfect a breakfast or for staying on track when you want something sweet.Dress it up or dress it down with toppings of choice, but I totally recommend trying out the toppings I suggest here. Delicious!
Ingredients
• 3 ripe frozen bananas, cut in chunks
• Splash of vanilla extract
• 1/8 to 1/4 cup plant milk
Toppings:
• Granola from Eating Whole*
• Freeze dried berries
1. Add all ingredients (except toppings) into a high speed blender and let the bananas defrost for 2 to 3 minutes. Then, starting on low use the tamper to mash the bananas down towards the blades. Gradually increase the speed until your desired consistency is achieved.
2. Pour into desired bowl, and top with granola or freeze dried or fresh fruit as desired.
Note: The trick to a thick smoothie bowl is to use as little liquid as possible. If you don’t have a high speed blender, you will need to add more liquid to your blender. It will still taste amazing, but the consistency will be thinner.
To make my granola from Eating Whole a “Chocolate” version just add in 2 tbsp cacao powder, and sub 1 cup puffed brown rice crispies instead of the steel cut oats. Follow all directions the same as in the original recipe.
